Since the summer of 2019, De Gulden Valk, located in the heart of Ghent on the beautiful Vrijdagmarkt, has been in the capable hands of two real (golden) high-flyers.
Father Johan navigates the dining room with the ease of years of experience and likes to share his inexhaustible knowledge of wine with enthusiasts. His son Frederick stands firmly behind his cooker as a certified cook and also gained experience at various starred restaurants.
This amazing duo strives for an easy-going, typically Ghentian atmosphere where enjoying a good glass and freshly prepared classics is central. Don’t wait any longer and discover the hospitality of De Gulden Valk!
At De Gulden Valk, conviviality is an asset. Not only can you go there for real ‘Flemish Classics’, you will also regularly find varying suggestions, as the kitchen always follows the season. The chef insists that only quality products are used. When the weather permits, you can enjoy the spacious heated terrace for 80 people (!) . Fancy a delicious fresh tea or homemade waffles and pancakes? There is also a tearoom provided from 2 pm to 6 pm where sweet catchers can feast themselves on a sugar rush.
